Twas three months until Christmas,
And Santa was worried;
The workshop was empty,
No little elves scurried.

The benches were clean,
No toys had been made;
Because the elves were all gone,
They hadn’t been paid.

The factory was cold,
With ice all around;
The hours were terrible,
The elves were worn down.

So they picked up and quit,
And Santa grew sad;
He’d never realised ‘til now,
That things had gotten so bad.

And when the elves left,
They spread out the news;
That Santa’s workshop was freezing,
And not the place they would choose.

The word spread fast,
It went all around the town;
Until Santa’s own brand,
Began to fall down.

He fixed up the workshop,
And added new heating;
He established a roster,
And even a weekly staff meeting.

But though he fixed all the problems,
Still no one would work;
For the jolly old man,
In the red buttoned shirt.

He spent all of his money,
Santa said with a tear;
“Because of my bad reputation,
They’ll be no toys this year.”

But far, far away,
Across the ice and the sea;
Employment Office Australia,
Heard poor Santa’s plea.

“We’ll help you!” they said,
As they rushed to his side;
“Your brand has been damaged,
But we’ll be your new guide!”

“We’ll put up new ads,
And create a career site;
So everyone can see,
That your shop is alright.

“And not only that”,
They said with a smile;
“We’ll get you on Facebook,
And update your style!”

After just a few days,
A new word was spread;
That Santa was back,
And his bad brand was dead.

His elves had logged on,
And seen all the changes;
They’d looked at his benefits,
And new fancy career pages.

It wasn’t too long,
Before they wanted to come back,
In the real world an elf,
Wasn’t given much slack.

They applied for his jobs,
And answered his questions;
His good name was renewed,
He’d followed all suggestions.

So Santa sat back,
His worries dispersed;
Thanks to the help of Employment Office,
He was no longer the worst.

And the workshop grew busy,
The elves were full of good cheer;
This was after all,
The happiest time of the year.
